Escort cards

Adam and I decided on our table names a couple of weeks ago… which got me to thinking about options for our escort cards. I thought of a great idea that will play off of our table names, but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to pull it off or not. In case you didn’t see this blog post our table names are going to be locations that have been important in our lives… so I thought why not use luggage to hold the escort cards. I’m talking about the old school hard luggage from the 50s. I could open it up and decorate the inside flap or outsides with tourists bumper stickers and place the cards in the bottom half of it. The only problem with this idea is finding luggage in good condition in our wedding colors. I also considered putting the escort cards inside leather luggage name tags. I guess we could do that for place cards, but I don’t really think those are necessary. Some other options we’re considering (if the luggage option doesn’t work out) are hanging the cards from a tree branches display with different colored ribbons and having guests cut them with fancy scissors. I also thought about using personalized CDs which could also serve as a favor. Adam burned me a CD filled with love songs when I was living in Florida while he was still in Indiana. I played this CD in my car religiously. It helped me get through all those months we were separated. I thought it would be neat to share those tunes with our guests. If I don’t use it as an “escort card” then maybe I’ll think of some other way to incorporate it.
